چکیده
We explore topological transitions in the type of propagation surface electromagnetic modes massive anisotropic tilted Dirac systems. The presence tilting and mass gives rise to an indirect band gap that strongly modifies joint density states compared gapless system. New van Hove singularities appear, interplay between intra interband leads optical conductivity with imaginary parts acquiring opposite signs orthogonal directions, opening possibility having hyperbolic plasmons. Isofrequency contours low plasmon losses, as obtained from dispersion relation, show purely quasi-elliptical well-defined, highly directional, are attainable only when tilt coexist. Fine-tuning THz regime suggests this might be useful a dynamical probe concurring materials.

Theory of Plasmons for Two-Dimensional Materials in the Random Phase Approximation
Abstract: A theory is derived for plasmons in two-dimensional (2D) materials by using three-dimensional (3D) plasmon theory, which was reported previously in the random phase approximation under high frequency conditions. When the 3D local electron density is expressed by the 2D local electron density n2D multiplied by the delta function in the thickness direction, a self-consistent integral eq...
متن کاملOptical properties of a semi-infinite medium consist of graphene based hyperbolic meta-materials with tilted optical axis
In this paper, the optical properties of a semi-infinite medium composed of graphen-based hyperbolic meta-materials with the optical axis were tilted with respect to its boundary with air, by using the Maxwell equations; then the homogeneous effective medium approximation method was studied. The results showed that the orientation of the structure layers (geometric induced anisotropy) affec...
متن کاملFriedel oscillation near a van Hove singularity in two-dimensional Dirac materials.
We consider Friedel oscillation in the two-dimensional Dirac materials when the Fermi level is near the van Hove singularity. Twisted graphene bilayer and the surface state of topological crystalline insulator are the representative materials which show low-energy saddle points that are feasible to probe by gating. We approximate the Fermi surface near saddle point with a hyperbola and calculat...
متن کاملDrifting plasmons in open two-dimensional channels: modal analysis
Understanding the properties of plasmons in two-dimensional channels is important for developing methods of terahertz generation. This paper presents a modal analysis of plasmonic reflection in open channels supporting dc currents. As it shows, the plasmons can be amplified upon reflection if a dc current flows away from a conducting boundary; de-amplification occurs for the opposite current di...
